David Chapman-Smith, LL.B. (Hons) FICC (Hon) Mr. David Chapman-Smith received his honors degree in law from Auckland University, New Zealand in 1972 and was a litigation partner in the firm of Holmden Horrocks & Co. in Auckland until his emigration to Canada in 1982. He was then admitted to the bar in Ontario where he practices in Toronto. His introduction to chiropractic was as counsel for the New Zealand Chiropractors’ Association before the New Zealand Commission of Inquiry into Chiropractic in 1979. He currently acts as Secretary-General for the World Federation of Chiropractic and General Counsel for the Ontario Chiropractic Association. He is a former member of the Board of Advisors of the American Back Society. Mr. Chapman-Smith, who is the author of many articles in the medico-legal and chiropractic literature, is a co-editor of national chiropractic clinical guidelines in each of the United States and Canada, and founded The Chiropractic Report in 1986. Since that time he has been its principal author and editor. His wife holds dual qualifications in medicine and chiropractic, and two of his brothers are physicians.
